| The Tau Volunteer program offers single women and associates of the School Sisters of St. Francis the opportunity to share life and ministry with the sisters at Casa Alexia. During a four to twelve week period, volunteers share living space, meals, prayer and reflection with the sisters in El Paso and Juárez. For more information on the Tau Volunteer Program. | |||

Maria Elena joined the Casa Alexia Sisters hoping to assist at their parish, Santa Lucia. Even though that didn't happen, she found many ways of helping and admits that she was learning at the same time. She says, "I learned a new language...the language of self-giving." Maria Elena was always ready to assist in whatever task that presented itself. However, her gift to us was not what she did, but who she was for those six weeks that she was part of Casa Alexia. |
